Meet Rebecca… she is completing her Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care and here is what she has to say about her experience with Early Years Training & Consultancy!
Why did you choose Early Years Training & Consultancy?
I wanted to do an Early Childhood Education Diploma course via correspondence/distance, which was also reasonably priced. Early Years Training was one of the only places that didn’t up their price once I advised them I already had a Bachelor degree. In corresponding with Kirsty, she was quick to answer all my queries, advised I would get prior learning from the cert 3 I’d done and explained the expectations of the course. I also really liked the fact, being a mother of 2 young children, that I could access webinars at any time, in my own time.
What has been your experience so far / best aspects of the course?
Kirsty is approachable, helpful and understands the juggles of life as a part time worker, mother and being a student. I find emailing so convenient, and know i will have a response from Kirsty within a 24 hour time frame (although, she usually responds within the hour!). I love the recorded webinars, they are convenient to access and re-access as many times as i need them.
How do you feel your knowledge / skills & confidence has grown throughout the course?
I love the easy to read/follow books that Kirsty uses, coupled with her webinars, where she is able to provide real-life examples and real-life discussion with her audience. I find linking the theory to everyday occurrences is one of the best ways I have improved my knowledge, skills and confidence.
If there was one piece of advice you would give to someone who wants to complete qualifications in Early Childhood, what would it be?
Go for it! The amount of support you receive, the flexibility of doing it via correspondence, really helps you in managing your time to reach your goal.
What is at least 1 thing that you have learnt about early childhood / children’s learning & development that has surprised or “wowed” you?
The diversity of the role as an early childhood educator. It really is an area that you could help make better but at the same time, betters you.
