Understanding Autism
What will we cover?
This 1.5 hour session looks at Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) including behaviours and indicators for the first 5 years, how the Autistic brain functions, along with strategies to support educators develop realistic strategies and expectations. This session is about “seeing” the environment from the perspective of the child, understanding their needs as well as their “super-powers” and using this to develop strategies relevant to them as an individual.
