Have you got what it takes to be an Educator?

August 14, 2016 By Kirsty Fantini Leave a Comment

Being an Early Childhood Educator is serious business!  I become frustrated by those who say this career is “easy” or “fun” or “we just play all day”…. while yes… we do engage in play and yes it should be fun and enjoyable… however I take this role a little more seriously!

Supporting, nurturing and scaffolding children’s development in the early years is of utmost importance. These years are significant for not only all areas of growth and development but also morals, values, perspectives and more importantly attachment.  How we engage, respond and support young children has a significant impact on the way they see themselves. This is why the early years are often terms “the critical years of development”

So, if you not only value play, but also understand the need to carefully consider, reflect upon and explore the importance of play, your role as a collaborator in children’s play as well as how this impacts upon children’s development, learning and sense of self,  then Early Years Training may be the right place for you to complete your Certificate III or Diploma.
