Significant role of the Educator. Could you do this?

May 20, 2016 By Kirsty Fantini Leave a Comment

a boy and a girl with a childcare providerHave you ever wondered what a career in Early Childhood Education would be like? Working with young children is so much more than “having fun” and while play is an important part of a child’s day, their learning and understanding of their world, our role as an educator is quite significant.

When we consider that the first 5 years of a child life is when tremendous growth occurs, learning and consolidation of language occurs, attachment is critical, values and beliefs start to develop and identity and self-esteem is influenced through relationships with others, we, as educators need to identify with the importance of our role, take this role seriously and provide the environments and relationships young children need.

This is our focus at Early Years Training. We ensure our Certificate III and Diploma students are educated about the importance of their role, equipped with the knowledge and skills to create such environments and relationships but also instil a love for learning and ongoing critical reflection so that the journey of the educator is an ongoing, exciting and evolving journey.
