Sustainability Day 4- Appreciating water!

February 8, 2017 By Kirsty Fantini Leave a Comment

Water is our most valuable source of survival and often taken for granted.

I love exploring properties of water with children to create awareness and appreciation, such as ice, steam, it’s many uses and the importance of water consumption.

However my favourite is exploring the flow and movement of water and we can do this using recycled items. Here are some ideas….

Use of recycled plastic bottles attached to timber pole…

Use of milk bottles creating various flows of water…

A favourite of mine with the use of pipes and funnels and random containers to really test the flow of water…

An easy yet effective smaller water wall supporting toddlers to observe the flow and movement of water…

A water wall with the use of bottles and hoses allowing children to access from the top providing a different perspective..

Please feel free to post your water wall ideas.. keep an eye out for Day 5!
