Educator Appreciation Day Ideas!

August 17, 2019 By Kirsty Fantini

Wednesday 4th September is Early Childhood Educator Day! A great opportunity to say “thank you” to those dedicated, passionate & valuable educators…. those educators who make a difference to the development & well-being of young children!

Do you need some ideas? Here are a few of my faves!

Everyone loves a Movie Ticket!

Movie tickets are a great gift- especially when you get two! These can be used on one’s own terms, they can take a friend or partner!

Chocolates!

Chocolates are always a winner… but they need to be good quality 😉 Also need to consider if they are suitable for those with allergies or those who are health conscious!

Delicious Food Platter!

I love this idea as it can suit all tastes… arrange a beautiful lunch platter for the day with healthy options and treats!

Wine!

Yes please! If you know your educator’s preferences… a lovely bottle of wine / champagne is a great gift!

Re-usable Coffee Cups

To support sustainable practices & caffeine habits a re-usable coffee cup is a great idea… maybe even arrange for your local coffee van to visit and shout a round of coffees!

Time in Lieu

If your team isn’t too large you could schedule TIL and allow each educator to have a half day across the week

Brunch it up!

Shout the team out for brunch on a Saturday morning… always a great team bonding experience as well!

Gift Voucher

Gift vouchers are great as you can choose your own gift. Myer/Coles I find are great as they offer varied store options

Good old fashioned Flowers!

You really cannot go wrong… who doesn’t love receiving a beautiful bunch of flowers?

Personalised Thank You note!

No matter what the gift… i think a personalised thank you note makes any gift special!

I wish you all a wonderful Educator Day!

I have worked within the Children’s Services Industry for over 20 years within both the private and non for profit sector. The Child Protection course updated my much out of date knowledge from 10 years ago and confirmed that we have to and remain true advocates for children.

I also wanted to let your know that the Educational Leader Series last year was amazing and we have put into place many of the strategies as a team last year and we are now ready for A&R with lots of evidence for linking our reflections to practice.   Setting Educational challenges and discussion has been the most successful.

Thankyou again,

Wendy
